Any longer than 1 2 metres long and the lead will be harder to shape and more likely to split over time.
Installing lead flashing on tiled roof.
To fit the lead flashing onto the roof lead dressing tools can be used.
Install an aluminum sublayer around the chimney or vent and have the flashing extend 6 inches up the sides of the chimney.
Now cut a piece of milled lead to around 1 2m long with the measured distance as the width of the lead.
Apron flashings if you are new to roofing or fitting roof flashings this really is a bread and butter place to start master this and the slightly more difficult flashings like step flashings will seem a lot easier.
Shape the lead flashing.
To achieve this level of protection around a chimney you will need metal flashing at least 9 inches wide.

Do this for all 1 5mtr lengths.
Create a pan effect with the flashing folding it to extend 2 inches under the clay tiles.
Having taken the measurements on the roof of the required folds in the lead to fit the job being done using a length of timber mark out the lead along the width of the roll to fold it.
